My Story

Hi hi!

My name is Shawn, and I am a Canadian photographer with roots in the West Coast, now embraced by the vast prairies of Alberta. My journey into photography began unexpectedly while assisting a friend at a lacrosse tournament in the United States. This experience ignited a passion I had always harbored, considering my lifelong affinity for the arts through hair, fashion, design, and drawing. Reflecting on my artistic evolution, I realize that drawing played a pivotal role in my development. It taught me to observe the nuances and details of life, textures, light, expressions, and colours. I learned to envision final pieces long before putting pencil to paper, a skill that seamlessly translates into my photography.

After relocating from British Columbia to Alberta 12 years ago,

I met the love of my life, whose unwavering support has empowered me to pursue my dreams and to explore my creative ideas without hesitation. I am profoundly grateful for the encouragement I receive from my family and clients, as it fuels my dedication to my craft.

With seven years in the industry, my passion lies in capturing the artistic perspectives of everyday moments. I strive to balance inspiration and uniqueness, resulting in compositions that reveal something unexpected and unfamiliar. Each photograph is an expression of my artistic vision, and I look forward to continuing this journey.

Meet Shawn

It’s just me going solo, but who isn’t? I’m a mother, a wife, and an individual who values family, yet also recognizes the importance of solitude and self-love, no matter how unconventional that may appear. My passion for high fashion, shopping, and all things aesthetic is balanced by a genuine affection for my favourite anime’s and the world of all things “geeky.” I firmly believe in the importance of self-expression and the idea that appearances can be deceptive. This belief drives my desire to connect with my clients on a personal level, allowing me to uncover their true selves. In doing so, I can create art that genuinely reflects who they are, capturing the essence of their individuality and style. From dates, miles stones, to weddings and more. I want to help document it all for you!

Sleep Token
Japan, I just traveled there solo for 16 days in 2024 but I didn’t see nearly enough. Every time I think of a dream trip, it’s going back there.
Next would be italy!
What’s else buuttttt……. reading fantasy romances of all kinds. I could talk for hours about romantasy books.
Of all time? Inyuasha hands down.
Of the current moment ? Would have to be a dead tie between Solo Levelling and The Apothecary Diaries
Anywhere in Italy, Greece, Scotland or Ireland.
As much as I love what I do and the relationships I build with my clients, the greatest reward of my career is the flexibility it provides to engage deeply with my children. I've faced long hours, holiday commitments, and challenging shifts, yet the unwavering support from my husband and the nature of my job allow me to be present for the milestones that matter most. I take pride in volunteering at their school, coaching my daughter's soccer team, and enjoying quality time together on my days off. This balance enriches my life and reinforces my dedication to both my profession and my family.
